Amazing Back Yard 924 GTS Find!

One of the great things about living in So-Cal is some of the amazing Porsche finds that are all around L.A. , Orange, San Deigo, Ventura and Riverside county areas. Today I found a very rare 924 GTS that had been painted brown and stripped of it’s unique hood scoop due to a crash and replaced with a regular 924 hood. The really nice guy that owned the car even had the original hood, another 924 turbo motor and a short shift kit to go along with the amazing price of $550.00 bucks! More to come as we get this very special Porsche in the Restoration pipeline.

TGIF In L.A. ASAP Visits The Goodyear Airship!
I was out runing parts around in the ASAP Benz E 320 “War Wagon” today when I got a very cool call. It was a good buddy of mine Scott Locke, one of the pilots of the Goodyear Airship Discover over in Carson Ca. As luck had in I was not too far away when he asked me if I wanted to go on a “check ride” out over the Long Beach-San Pedro Harbor. I was there in an instant and got one of the great thrills of my life!

The car features a 400 HP engine, The BIG Turbonetics Turbo charger, stand alone engine management, larger fuel injectors and a bunch of extras that were cooked up by Kurt to make this car fly low. We should have the whip out of the hanger by weeks end. More to come!

ASAP 924 Turbo PCH Gets It’s Louvered Hood!
After getting back from Palm Springs today. I got a call from one of the most skilled fabricators in the game. “Cool Scott” is a old school sheet metal massager who has being bending and shaping metal for over 25 years. I asked him to work his magic on a few of the ASAP Porsche models that I have been restoring and customizing and he got excited about some of the projects that I laid on him. The 1st of these is the ASAP 924 Turbo PCH. Named after the famed Pacific Coast Highway. The Little Turbo has a Al Holbert wide body kit on it and is a real goer when the boost comes on.
I took one of the 924 Turbo hoods that I had laying around over to Scott on Thursday and this is what he did to it in just 2 days of fabrication. Amazing! He louvered the hood putting over 200 louvers on it and giving the little 924 Turbo a very retro-rod style instantly!
What a cool welcome home gift from our rod run out to Palm Springs this morning! More to come on the 924 Turbo PCH as we’re set to begin the prep and paint of the car next week.

With Spring fever upon us here in L.A. and top down motoring a part of the culture in So-Cal. We started doing the final prep on the 928 Cabrio TT Vader to get it on deck for a series of late night shake down runs in out in the San Fernando Valley. The final touches are being put on the 5 speed conversion swap and outrageous interior is almost completed. I think we should be able to take her out around midnight. I’ll keep you guys posted.
